Details that make the handoff complete

Give each email image the right link and alt text.

A product image, a hero and a call to action may need different destinations. Prepare them section by section so the template includes the links and text alternatives you intend.

A default link, with specific destinations where needed

Use a store or collection URL as the default, then override the destination for individual slices. For example, link a launch hero to the collection and a product section to its product page. Review the actual URL, including any campaign parameters.

Text detection from Figma layers

The Figma plugin gathers visible text layers located within each slice and uses their content as a starting point for alt text. This works from text nodes in the design, not OCR on screenshots. Edit the result so it communicates the useful message clearly.

Manual control for flattened images

A JPG or PNG has no editable text layer. In the web app’s template form, enter the alternative text for each slice yourself. Describe the relevant product, offer or action; avoid repeating filenames or a list of keywords.

From your design to the next campaign

  1. Divide by message and destination

Keep an offer and its call to action together where practical. If two products need different links, give them separate clickable sections.

  2. Review the text with images in mind

For a promotion, include the meaningful offer. For a linked image, make the purpose clear. Check automated Figma output for repeated or irrelevant text.

  3. Test the final HTML email

Check the links and preview the message with images unavailable when your testing tools allow it. Keep essential information as live text where appropriate and review the result in Klaviyo.

Questions before you start

Does EmailSlicer automatically recognize words in any image?

No. Automatic alt text comes from visible Figma text nodes. A flattened image or screenshot needs manual alternative text in the web app.

Does adding alt text guarantee inbox placement?

No. Alternative text provides a text equivalent for image content. It does not guarantee deliverability, accessibility compliance, search rankings or campaign performance.

Can each slice use its own URL?

Yes. In template creation, enter a custom link per slice or leave it to use the default link. Review the completed email before sending.
